About me
I am Martin Gossmann, the person behind Stage Moments. Live music has fascinated me for many years — not only because of the songs, but above all because of the special moments that unfold during a concert. A glance exchanged between musicians, the instinctive understanding on stage, or the connection a band establishes with its audience: these are precisely the fleeting moments I want to capture.
Photography is one of my great passions. I am particularly drawn to the challenge of making the atmosphere of a concert visible under changing, and often difficult, lighting conditions. I do not simply want to document a performance; above all, I want to capture the personality of the musicians. Whenever possible, I photograph concerts with a Canon EOS R3 and a Canon EOS R5. For me, however, it is not the camera that matters most, but the right moment.
Almost as much as I enjoy photography, I enjoy writing. That goes back to my school days and to my subsequent studies in German literature and language. Stage Moments therefore brings together three passions: music, photography and language.
My reports are personal snapshots. I do not merely want to list which songs were played; I want to convey what a concert felt like. What was the atmosphere in the room? How did the musicians come across on stage? What made this particular evening special? I write from my own perspective, independent of prepared press material or conventional media reports.
Stage Moments is my personal concert diary in words and images. It reminds me of special evenings and, at the same time, allows me to share those experiences with other music lovers.
